Group Music Therapy

Group Music Therapy

One-on-one music therapy

Bobby & Joanna offer music lessons for students with special needs. As music therapists, Bobby & Joanna have a unique understanding of different needs and abilities.

Adaptive lessons are suited for people who have difficulty with traditional music lessons due to cognitive, emotional, or physical challenges. Students with special needs such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, behavioral disabilities, and physical disabilities can benefit from adaptive lessons.

Adaptive music lessons focus on music, enjoyment, and building self-esteem.

Adaptive lessons are designed to reach individualized goals such as improvements in:

  • focus

  • attention

  • memory

  • communication

  • social skills

  • self-esteem

We also offer music therapy, which can reach many of the same goals as adaptive lessons. The difference between the two is that the primary goal of adaptive lessons is to learn the instrument (while also benefitting from external goals like improving attention, communication, etc.). Music therapy uses musical experiences to reach goals, and can look very different than a music lesson. Learn more about music therapy here.
